Ten Years Ago - February 9th...

Ten years ago on February 9th, my mom, Rozella, left this earth to join my dad in heaven. I miss her in many ways, but I would not deny her the peace she now enjoys having had to fight the good fight of faith in her body and mind during her final days here.

I found this poem that I thought fit so well.

MISS ME
by Fran Sawyer, FL

When I come to the end of the day
And the sun has set for me,
I want no rites in a gloom-filled room
Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little, but not too long
And not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love we once shared,
Miss me but let me go.
For this is a journey we all must take
And each must go alone.
It's all a part of the maker's plan,
A step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick at heart,
Go to family and friends we know,
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds
Miss me, but let me go.

By the way...this is how she will always look to me...

Such a beautiful tribute to your mom! I know time heals all wounds, but when you lose a parent, it is like it happened yesterday.

Thanks for sharing.

Thinking of you during this time as you remember your mom's passing.

I know that you know this, but she is in a better place.
