I STAND CORRECTED...

Okay, so I stand corrected...{of course I am wearing orthopedic shoes}...We didn't have a Chatty Cathy doll we had Charmin' Chatty... Here is what she looked like; see the four records you could slip in the side of her body? Then you pulled a string in the back and she...well...chatted.

Other dolls of our childhood:
One of the first dolls I remember were these Ruthie Dolls...
Marcia, Sue and I each got one under the Christmas tree one year. I think it was the same year we got the little brooms. Each of our Ruthie dolls had different colored hair. Mine had red hair.

My sister, Sue, got this Debbie Eve Doll for Christmas one year... {she wasn't wearing red when she got her}

In fact, she looked more like this when we were done playing with her...

That same year, Marcia and I got to share this Besty Wetsy doll, which we called Corinna, because Jan liked that song that was popular that year, "Corinna, Corinna". And, of course, she didn't always look this nice; only when we dressed her up to take her for show and tell.

It starts at an early age, you know... like Anna here with her baby Cabbage Patch doll.
