We had a wonderful, family time on Christmas Eve. It started with our traditional, ethnic dinner of Polish Pierogi and Kielbasa sausage, along with Lefse for the Scandinavians represented there. {Tim is part Norwegian and Tore is Swedish}. We also had salad and plenty of Christmas goodies, including a ginger cake that Robyn made. Of course, the meal would not be complete without Egg Nog. {Well, at least Karalynn, Marie and Robyn think so.} After dinner, we opened the many gifts that were waiting under the tree. I have to admit that both grandkids were so well behaved and left the tree alone! Good training, Karalynn! After gift opening we sang Christmas carols. Well, actually we girls sang while Tim, Tore and Bob put the toys together that stated 'some assembly required' on their boxes.It was a great, fun time. I didn't get too many photos, but here are a few that we managed to take of the evening:
Anna, eager to play Santa's helper, started opening gifts {with help from 'Aunty Bobbin'.}
Karalynn holding Owen while he waits for his turn to open a gift.
After we finished opening gifts, Robyn played piano while Bob played guitar to accompany our singing of Christmas carols.
Anna and Owen decide that it is their turn to accompany on piano. What were they playing? Why, Joy to the World, of course!! (Anna's favorite Christmas carol.)
A tired looking Owen on the horsey, with Robyn's boyfriend, Tore {or "Towwie" as Anna calls him}, keeping him entertained as we cleaned up the mess.
