I chuckled when I got on the bus this morning and found one Anna's books in my book bag. I'm not sure how it got in there. The lady next to me on the bus looked at me funny when I dug it out, I just commented with, "This is my heavy reading". She chuckled and asked if I had Zwiback bread {teething buscuits} in there, too!
We read a lot in our family, and Anna is no exception. She is a lot like her mommy and Aunty Robyn when they were little, who loved storybooks and having you read to them. Anna loves to get a book and hand it to you when you are with her. She's getting very good at pointing out the items on the page and repeating what that item is after you say it. She's getting better at sitting longer through a book, too, although sometimes she starts turing the page if the story is taking too long. You learn to read little snippets from each page as she turns it. {I refer to as shorthand reading!} Hopefully this love of reading will continue and that her brother, Owen, will enjoy books as much as she does.

I'm so glad to hear that you and your daughters enjoy reading. I always have and my mom started reading to Kendra when she was only two months old (I thought she was nuts) well, that reading made a huge impact on Kendra and she is such a book worm and loves to read more than anything else she could do in her spare time, reading is her "get away" from life and I now know that she wasn't "too little" to begin reading to at two months... they will pick up on it and will have a life long love for books!!
Oh so funny but an important sign of developing minds at your house. Reading is a basic function that too many of us take for granted but that love of reading and learning can take a person so far in life. Good luck with tutoring your little ones.
We purchased our first baby einstien product this week and getting excited.
