As much as I hate to see summer end, I truly must admit that it is autumn. The days are getting cooler and I need a light jacket as I head to the bus stop. But, that is how it goes...summer ends and autumn enters. I think it is my favorite season. How I long to just drop everything and head to the North Shore to take in the view of the beautiful colors of turning leaves; which I am told is taking place right now. so, I thought I would share some of the beautiful autumn photos I have gathered over the years. Hope you enjoy them.

And, of course, I cannot have fall photos without including my favorite pumpkin patch photos that Bob took a couple years ago, when we stopped at a farm that sold pumpkins outside of St. Peter on the way home from dropping Robyn off at Gustavus.Since I am sitting in a tall building in the middle of the large city, do a favor for me and go outside and enjoy the crisp air and falling, colorful leaves...let them calm you, and bring balance back into your day. Or stop and buy a pumpkin, make it two, one for me and one for you! If you can't get outdoors, {like I am unable to} You may like this poem by Robert Frost:
GATHERING LEAVES
Spades take up leaves
No better than spoons,
And bags full of leaves
Are light as balloons.
I make a great noise
Of rustling all day
Like rabbit and deer
Running away.
But the mountains I raise
Elude my embrace,
Flowing over my arms
And into my face.
I may load and unload
Again and again
Till I fill the whole shed,
And what have I then?
Next to nothing for weight,
And since they grew duller
From contact with earth,
Next to nothing for color.
Next to nothing for use.
But a crop is a crop,
And who's to say where
The harvest shall stop?
HAPPY AUTUMN!!
