Thanks for everyone's concern about us! Just want to let everyone know that we are all fine. I work downtown, but I go a different way home. Last night, I had left a little bit early in order to get to a church meeting, followed by our Wednesday night church service, so we were in church when it happened and when it was announced from the pulpit that the bridge had collapsed we all went immediately into prayer for the situation.
It is almost surreal here at work, this morning...so eerie and 9/11ish. There was a sign on the door when I got here for everyone to check in at the reception desk for a head count, which I did, then when I got to my desk I found we all had messages from our practice leaders and partners to see if everyone is okay. I spent most of the morning contacting my people who are on PTO to make sure they were all accounted for. Fortunately, everyone is okay from my team, but one of the gals in the firm's audit department had just crossed the bridge ten minutes before it happened!! We were supposed to have a seminar today, but it was moved to different date. We are glad that our clients don’t have to come into the City now from outstate Minnesota.
Another Minnesota scrapbooker that Karalynn and I know from the 2Peas Scrapbook website reported that she was coming back from the zoo with her three children in the van and they had just crossed the bridge when they heard the first bump, she looked in her rearview mirror to see two cars behind her scramble off the bridge before it collapsed!. She had been behind the school bus and decided to pass them and two cars ahead of the bus right before they all got on the bridge! She and her kids are fine, but understandably shook up. She said it was like something out of a movie.
Continue to pray for this situation and for our city, which is devastated!

We are fine, but please continue to pray...

Thank God you are fine.. all I could think of when I saw it on the news was all my family in the cities, it was a frightening moment of not knowing.
So glad to hear you are all right. Greg's neice also lives there and we had no idea if she used the bridge or not, she is fine also. I can see why that girl is all shook up, God was watching out for her. Take care, Connie "conniecrafter"
